Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Arts Magnet) school building is in a state of deterioration. Seven hundred students strive to achieve scholastic and artistic excellence in a facility built for 400. Periodic repairs are impractical and do not resolve the hazard and space problems the students and faculty work with every day. To address these issues, the school's Advisory Board has launched a Building Campaign to renovate and expand the historic site.
